Giving from Abroad

Alumni and friends living in Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom can potentially give tax-free to International House via local charities in these countries. All gifts made to International House will be acknowledged with a tax-deductible receipt.

Gifts made to Canadian Friends of I-House support two scholarships: the MacGuigan and the McLaine that are given directly to Canadian residents.

The MacGuigan Scholarships support Canadian citizens or permanent residents who exemplify Justice Mark MacGuigan’s values of volunteerism, public service, and leadership. The grant is given in memory of Canadian Friends Founder Mark R. MacGuigan, a distinguished I-House alumnus whose career included terms as a professor, Secretary of State for External Affairs and Minister of Justice

The McLaine Scholarships support Canadian citizens or permanent residents of East and Central European background who exhibit leadership potential through active participation in the I-House community and a demonstrated interest in promoting better relations with Central/Eastern Europe. This grant is given in memory of Alan P. McLaine, a distinguished I-House alumnus who was Canadian Ambassador to several East European countries.

How to Give:
