The International House community was saddened to learn of the death of Ambassador Frank G. Wisner, distinguished American diplomat and Chair of the Board of Trustees, on February 24th following a valiant battle with lung cancer. “Frank Wisner was a dedicated champion for I-House and a valued advisor for more than 25 years,” said I-House President Sebastian Fries. “In times of global crises, from 9/11 to wars in Ukraine and Gaza, he was here to share his unique perspective and insights with generations of I-House residents. I-House Remembers Trustee Paul D. Carter (1934-2023)

Paul D. Carter, who served as an active member of the I-House Board of Trustees for four decades, died February 12, 2023 at his home in Ridgewood, NJ, at age 88. A longtime senior administrator at Columbia University, Carter was a vital link between I-House and Columbia, where he served in positions including Provost and Executive Vice President of Administration for more than 30 years before his retirement in 1994. Since the announcement of her passing by family members, tributes to the late Eleanor D. I-House Remembers Pat Cloherty ’67, Life Trustee

Patricia M. Cloherty, an international venture capitalist and private equity financier, and a longtime member and supporter of the International House community, passed away on September 23, 2022, at her home in the Coconut Grove section of Miami, Florida, at age 80. A native of California, Cloherty received a BA from the San Francisco College for Women and lived at I-House in 1965-67 while pursuing her graduate studies at Columbia University.
