Candlelight Sunday Supper, 1925
At our annual
Candlelight Sunday Supper, an I-House tradition that has endured for more than one hundred years, we make this pledge:
As light begets light, so love, friendship, and goodwill are passed from one to another. We who have come from many nations to live in one fellowship at International House promise one another to pass the light wherever we go.
The
International House Archives is built on that same promise to pass along the legacy—the I-House legacy—out into the world and to future generations.

In order to raise awareness for the Archives, this month we are excited to introduce a series solely focused on the Archives. During ‘September Spotlight on the Archives’ I will share my work as the Lead Archivist at I-House through a series of blogs and social media posts designed to engage interest and encourage support.

As you enjoy this series, I ask you to please remember that preserving history requires action, care, and maintenance. There are very few shortcuts when you
start an archive from scratch, and the process is both time-consuming and costly. As we are all still reeling from the devastating impacts related to COVID-19, the
International House Archives needs your help!

We are appealing to
you to help continue this project.
Any gift you make will help us sustain a better future for our precious records. If you cannot make a monetary donation, please consider using your voice and network to help us spread this important message and reach all the members of our diverse community. Regardless, this is your Archives, and I will try to do everything in my power to make these materials accessible to you.
Make a gift to the Archives!
I look forward to connecting with you this month. I hope that you enjoy this glimpse into our collections and share in our vision to pass the light of International House through the Archives.
