Arundhati Katju ‘17 Speaks with Fareed Zakaria on CNN
A new video on CNN features I-House Alumna and attorney Arundhati Katju ’17, who was recently named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2019. Speaking with Fareed Zakaria on his show, “The Global Public Square (GPS),” Katju and her partner, Menaka Guruswamy, discuss how they fought successfully to overturn a colonial era law that criminalized homosexuality in India.
Katju lived at I-House while studying at Columbia Law School. During her residency she was also selected to participate in the International House Women’s International Leadership Program (WIL); in fact, in March 2019, she spoke at the 2019 I-House Awards Gala about the program’s skills-building and cultivation of women leaders across the globe.
It was especially significant for I-House to see Katju interviewed by Fareed Zakaria, who has been a Trustee of International House since 2003. Connections like these are great reminders of the reach and impact of I-House Alumni carrying forward I-House core values.
