Freunde des International House, e.V. (Freunde)
An alumni chapter registered in Germany serving Pan-European I-House Alumni
Founded following the 1986 World Council of Alumni meeting in Berlin by a group of German Alumni, Freunde des International House, e.V. (Freunde) is the International House Germany Chapter that serves Europe’s large Alumni population.
At the time of its founding, Germany was second only to the United States in the number of I-House Alumni who call it home. Today, Freunde is a registered charity through which Alumni residing in Germany can make tax-deductible gifts. Gifts of 25€ (or greater) for individuals or 45€ (or greater) for couples will be considered members of Freunde and will have the right to vote at the Annual Meeting. Download the form to make a gift and become a member. Gifts may also be made below.
Freunde’s mission is:
- To promote the ideals, goals, and mission of International House and its umbrella Alumni organization, the World Council of Alumni
- To provide opportunities for association and networking among its members, other Alumni, and International House through annual meetings throughout the continent or other means as determined from time to time
- To support International House in New York by contributing to its projects and providing scholarship or financial assistance to its Residents on the basis of merit
- To provide assistance in the recruitment of new Residents.
