NYAAC at the National Arts Club
Join fellow I-House Alumni and NYAAC for an evening out at the National Arts Club. The Sylvan Winds present A Gilded Age Salon, with Love from Paris to New York on Tuesday, February 20th at 7:00PM.
Musical performance: Hailed by The New York Times for “its venturesome programming and stylishness of performance,” the Sylvan Winds quintet has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival, the Caramoor International Music Festival, the Chicago Chamber Music Society and the Sejong Cultural Center in Seoul, Korea. They have recorded extensively and have collaborated with such distinguished artists as Gerard Schwarz and the Guarneri String Quartet.
A Gilded Age Salon will reflect the taste and times of the latter half of the 19th Century to the early years of the 20th Century. The program will combine French works – favored in the parlors of the Vanderbilts – with works by New York and Boston composers, including ragtime by American women.
The performance begins at 7:00 PM sharp followed a cheese and prosecco reception until 8:30PM.
